Welcome to Sherwood Forest
Sherwood Forest is a unique and enchanting community near Brevard, North Carolina. As part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, our 1,000-acre mountain development is buffered almost entirely by protected woodland, including more than 20 miles of hiking trails with meandering streams and gentle waterfalls. Sherwood attracts families who are charmed by forest living and choose to live in harmony with the native plants and animals that also thrive here. Residents enjoy fishing on five lakes, swimming in a heated junior Olympic pool, playing tennis, and golfing on an executive course where the hazards include wildflower beds and an occasional llama caddy.
Life in Sherwood offers organic gardening in an eco-friendly community garden, a stimulating lecture series, and opportunities to walk trails with resident and visiting naturalists. Every season brings its own special charms—soup suppers in the winter, wildflower walks in the spring, old-fashioned family picnics at the barn during the summer, and canoeing on the lakes when autumn colors blaze.
Private homes are nestled in the woods, while vacation cottages, cluster homes and condominiums offer residential opportunities for every lifestyle.
